U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., issued the following statement regarding the cowardly terrorist attacks that have been committed against innocent people in Brussels, Belgium:

"America stands with the Belgian people against those who carry out these savage, indiscriminate acts of violence. We need to face the reality of these continued attacks and threats: The civilized world is at war with Islamic extremism.

"The United States and our allies -- particularly our Arab allies -- need to increase our commitment to find and destroy those who seek to cause us harm."
