Larson on the Every Student Succeeds Act

Statement

Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act (S. 1177):

"As a former teacher, I know a good education is key to ensuring our children have the brightest possible future," said Larson. "The bi-partisan agreement passed tonight will replace the broken requirements of No Child Left Behind with strong support for schools and students who need it the most. States will have greater flexibility to set standards and improve school performance. I applaud the genuine bi-partisan effort that produced the compromise bill we passed today. Everyone deserves access to a quality education, and this agreement will help provide our children with every opportunity for success."
