Cassidy Votes Against Budget Bill

Statement

Date: Dec. 18, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. released the following statement after voting against the $1.149 trillion fiscal year (FY) 2016 Omnibus Appropriations bill:

"My goal is to advance policies that help working families--this bill does not do that. Although there were some good things in the bill, like lifting the crude oil export ban, one of the reasons I voted against it was that it continues Obamacare and gives a $30 billion tax break that greatly benefits groups that forced Obamacare on the rest of us. President Obama is pleased with this bill, I am not."
