Today, after Vice President Joe Biden announced he would not run for President, U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) issued the following statement:

"Joe Biden is a thoughtful, passionate, authentic leader. He has an ability to connect with people, and a proven track record of working across the aisle to get things done -- from the Violence Against Women Act to the COPS law to leading the President's interagency Middle-Class Task Force. He is a dedicated public servant who works hard every day to help middle-class families get a fair shot. I know he will continue working to achieve that goal.
