Cornyn Cosponsors Bill to Crack Down on Sanctuary Cities

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after cosponsoring the Stop Sanctuary Policies and Protect Americans Act, a bill introduced yesterday by Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) to crack down on so-called "sanctuary cities":

"Sanctuary cities undermine our nation's immigration laws and can threaten public safety by allowing dangerous criminals to remain on the streets," Sen. Cornyn said. "This bill takes important steps to ensure that jurisdictions that ignore federal immigration law are held accountable."
