Issue Position

Higher education has seen regularly underfunded, in some cases to the point of devastation in services. I support fully funding our higher education system, as well as TOPS which plays a vital role in keeping college affordable, so that students don't have to seek after out of state colleges for a first rate education.

Many specialized and industrial jobs with good pay don't require a four-year degree. As we right size our higher education system, we must emphasize the diversity of higher education so students can make the best choice for their future. We must be equally concerned with the viability of our universities, colleges, community colleges, technical schools, and industrial training programs. Each serves a vital role in preparing our youth for their chosen careers.
