PROCLAMATION
NURSING HOME WEEK
MAY 8-14, 2005

WHEREAS, in America, the number of elderly and people with disabilities needing quality nursing home care is on the rise; and
WHEREAS, North Dakota's citizens who now reside in nursing homes have made valuable contributions to the growth and prosperity of our state; and
WHEREAS, nursing facilities provide caring and supportive services that make quality of life possible for our loved ones; and
WHEREAS, the North Dakota Long Term Care Association is working with member facilities across the state to increase awareness about North Dakota's long-term care services with a message of "Taking Center Stage"; and
WHEREAS, North Dakotans are encouraged to visit friends and loved ones who reside at our state's nursing homes and to recognize the quality services that North Dakota's long-term care facilities are providing; and
NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim May 8-14, 2005, NURSING HOME WEEK in the state of North Dakota.
