Summary


A "yes" vote supports amending the constitution to make the following changes to the Judicial Nominating Commission:

- require that appointments shall be made according to congressional districts at the time of the appointment;
- allow commissioners to serve two consecutive six-year terms; and
- remove the provision limiting the commission from having more than three members from one political party.

A "no" vote opposes amending the constitution to make changes to the Judicial Nominating Commission.

rejection a proposed amendment to Section 3 of Article VII-B of the Constitution of the State of
Oklahoma; updating references to congressional districts; modifying provisions related to terms of office; removing restrictions based on membership in political party; removing restrictions based upon status as licensed attorney; removing restriction based upon status of family members as licensed attorneys; removing restriction related to succession in office; prescribing procedures related to changes in congressional districts; providing for applicability of amendatory provisions; providing ballot title; and directing filing.
