Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
No Do you support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade?
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Unknown Position Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget?
Unknown Position Do you support a wealth tax in order to pay for public programs?
Balancing the federal budget and ensuring that we have the necessary funds to pay for smart investments in such areas as health care, education, job training, assistance to farmers and veterans, environmental protection, and national defense will require difficult choices. We need to look at the entire spectrum of options -- from taxes to entitlement reform to federal spending -- to make sure that the federal budget stays on a sustainable path now and into the future. As a member of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition, I have long supported such measures as a Balanced Budget constitutional amendment as well as "pay-as-you-go" budget rules to require any new spending or tax cuts be offset.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
No Do you support protecting government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
Yes Do you support increasing defense spending?
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)?
Yes Do you support the federal government increasing funding for affordable housing programs?
Yes Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
Yes Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
No Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal government allowing permits for drilling on public lands?
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loopholes)?
As a gun owner myself, I do support sensible, responsible legislation at the federal, state, and local levels to keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people and to reduce if not eliminate the scourge of gun violence. For example, I support extended background checks for firearm purchasers under the age of 21, provided funding for state red flag laws and other crisis intervention programs, further criminalized arms trafficking and straw purchases, and partially closed the so-called boyfriend loophole that allowed allows physically abusive ex-romantic partners and stalkers with previous convictions, or restraining orders to access guns.
Yes Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
Yes Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)?
Yes Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs?
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship, regardless of their immigration status?
Yes Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
Yes Do you support the US providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
Yes Do you generally support increased regulations on social media companies (e.g. Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.)?
I will continue to use my positions on both the House Appropriations Committee and the House Agriculture Committee to improve the lives of my constituents in Georgia?s Second Congressional District as well as to ensure that Georgia?s economy remains one of the strongest in the nation in terms of creating jobs and preparing our workers for the future. I have long believed in reaching across the aisle and working in a bipartisan manner on issues such as disaster assistance for Georgia farmers impacted by storms; increased deployment of broadband Internet in rural communities for telehealth; medical transportation services for the elderly and infirm who are unable to travel to their doctors; job training and health care assistance for veterans and their families; food insecurity among members of the United States military; and providing tax relief for working families and companies.
