Yes c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
Yes d) Do you support the use of private prisons in Maine?
No e) Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
b: it depends on the age and the crime committed. I wouldn't support a 13 year old being tried as an adult, but a 17 year old who is about to turn 18 and knowingly and willfully commits a violent crime could be. e: the sentences should depend on the severity of the crime, where the crime was committed (i.e. private residential property vs school property), and other items relate to the crime.

No a) Do you support adopting federal education standards in Maine?
Yes b) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
Yes c) Do you support increasing teacher salaries AND/OR benefits in Maine?
No d) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Maine high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
a: I support the goals and metrics of the Federal Standards to help students stay at an even level, however, I do not support the amount of standardized tests that are incorporated. b: I support state funding for charter schools that have specialized programs to help students grow that would not be successful in a traditional classroom setting. c: I support increasing teachers' salaries so the people educating our next generation do not need to take out multiple jobs to support their families. d: If they pay taxes to our state, I would support this.

However, I do support fines being imposed on those who do not follow the regulations.
No a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
No b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should teachers be allowed to bring guns into the classroom after passing gun safety training?
No d) Should a license be required for gun ownership?
a: I do not support any legislation to infringes on Constitutionally given right. c: If teachers feel comfortable doing this, I do not see why they shouldn't be able to, but if they are uncomfortable with this, they shouldn't be forced to.

No d) Do you support legislation that grants citizens the right to choose to die through euthanasia?
No e) Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations?
No f) Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
a: I support this if the tax burden on Mainers does not increase. d: I believe every life has meaning and a purpose and should be lived until they die of natural causes. That being said, I have difficulty with this questions because it's too open. Do I want to see my grandparents suffering from cancer or other terminal illness? No, but I also don't want a healthy 21 year old to be able to commit suicide through euthanasia. f: I don't believe in requiring private companies, especially small businesses, to provide leave, however, incentives could encourage companies what's right.
Yes a) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Maine's anti-discrimination laws?
Yes b) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Maine's anti-discrimination laws?
Yes c) Do you support greater efforts by Maine state government in closing the pay gap between men and women?
Yes d) Do you support inclusion of the Equal Rights Amendment in the state constitution?
I support equal rights for all, regardless of their sex, race, religious beliefs, political affiliation, or any other reason. No one should be discriminated against.
I believe we need to strengthen our State's infrastructure. The idea of about 85,000households not having access to broadband internet, especially during a pandemic that resulted in schools and places of employment going to virtual format is unbelievable to me. Fixing this infrastructure needs to be a priority. We should be working with companies to encourage them to expand access to our most rural areas so everyone who needs or wants access can have it.
Simply put, I want a balanced budget that does not increase the tax burden of Mainers. 100 words or less does not really give enough space to fully expand on ideas I have about money being used to support families and growth in Maine, but we need to have a balanced budget and promote economic growth to keep people in Maine and to encourage others to come to this beautiful State.
