North Carolina State Legislative Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-life a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
I have spent over 20 years working with Crisis Pregnancy centers as a board member, chairman, and volunteer. As to question b, I feel this is a very difficult problem. I would counsel the individual to consider birthing the baby, but I understand it could be a problem. The law should allow the mother to make that decision.

1) Budget Stabilization:Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing North Carolina's budget.

No a) Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
No b) Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees?

The experience of states that have tried to set up nonpartisan redistricting ended up with a worse situation than when it was left to the elected officials. The example being California and Arizona. Unlike elected official the appointed positions are not accountable to the voters.
