| I believe the federal government should move to a single payor, or Medicare for All system so that everyone is covered by insurance and coverage does not rely on employment status. This would also eliminate the burden on businesses. And, the overall cost of insurance would be reduced. The overhead for medicare is about 5% while the overhead for private insurance is about 16%. This would solve a lot of problems. | |||

| Since New Mexico is a beautiful but environmentally fragile state, we must focus on protecting the quantity and quality of our water. | |||
| My top legislative priority is to regulate produced water--the toxic fluid released as a by-product of hydraulic fracking. We need to reduce the number of spills by instituting consequences for spills. Such consequences should include fines and requirements to pay for or repair the damages. |
