There are, in my opinion, several opportunities to reduce defense spending while not having a negative impact on military preparedness. These would including, but not limited to, reductions in contracting and civilian personnel, pursuing additional base realignments and closures in the US and foreign countries, and I would also support potential cuts of programs including the Airforce aircraft tactical fleet and the F-35 program.

I believe that the source of all campaign contributions should be transparent.

I support expanding the Environmental Protection Agency's purview under the Clean Air Act.

I support reasonable regulations including the immediate closing of the gun show loophole, expanded uniform federal background checks, and legislation which ensures that domestic abusers, people with severe mental illness, and individuals who are included on the no fly list do not have access to fire arms. I also support re-instituting the assault weapon ban.

I support expanding the ACA, and as a member of Congress would work to immediately reinstate the individual mandate. I also believe that a critical step to ensuring that all Americans have access to quality and affordable care must include an expansion of Medicare. While I support additional policies which would make health care available to all Americans, I realize that even in the event of a Democratic wave election, we will still have a Republican president and lack a veto-proof majorities in both houses. Therefor our focus must be for now, expanding the ACA.

Going to war must always be a last resort, after all diplomatic efforts have been exhausted, and the administration has laid out a clear and coherent plan, includes an exit strategy, and which recognizes the roll of Congress in approving any military action.
We need a massive public works program to address our crumbling infrastructure. I believe this can be funded by raising the marginal tax rate on the top 2% of earners and the expanded tax base which will result from the creation of good paying jobs. I support expanding early childhood and after school programs, funded by national marijuana legalization; these programs ultimately pay for themselves in terms of reduced crime and decreased reliance on social safety nets. Finally, I will work to pass common sense gun legislation as described above.
