As far as children accused of violent crimes being charged as adults-I think that decision is something that should be very, very carefully weighed when charging youth with a crime. As a social worker, I believe in restorative justice, particularly with youth, and would favor that method over others, especially considering that most youth who commit violent crimes have experienced trauma or other significant challenges.
