Not a fair question without more facts. The state must balance its budget regardless and any deficiency requires us to consider the impact any cuts will have on our most vulnerable citizens and whether or not our tax policies could further cause harm to our ability to collect revenues.

Again not a fair yes or no question. We have to balance the ability to start a small business with the protections of our workers. I authored a bill in the House in 2016 that did a great job of balancing these interests by allowing workers to use sick leave to care for other family members. Cutting spending can also help promote economic growth but spending money wisely can also promote economic growth. Unemployment benefits should be protected and I am not sure what you mean by "expanding".

I think there has to be some federal standards but that we should leave as much as we can up to the local school boards.

Medicaid expansion is not a yes or no because there may be ways for us to consider waivers that may allow us to bring more federal dollars home to Georgia without a full blown, unrestricted expansion.

I need more information on what "gender identity" entails. I don't support discrimination and will only allow for the denial of services if such denial passes a constitutional test under a standard as can be established by legislation.
Criminal justice reform: I want to continue leading the efforts to reform our criminal justice process as I have done in the past 6 years in office. I think the next step needs to focus on mental health and additional reentry issues such as record expungement and mugshots.
