Person Most Want to Meet (Dead or Alive):

Abraham Lincoln, through hard work and dedication kept a nation together through its most trying times. I admire his wisdom and political courage.

Priority Issues:

We need to continue to invest in education. Education is the key to economic development. By investing in our greatest asset, our children, we allow them the opportunity to drive a free market economy, with their knowledge, their aspirations and their dreams. We need to invest in infrastructure: highways, power corridors, pipelines and power transmission lines. We need to create the economic conditions which allow our goods to be delivered to market. Infrastructure spending in an investment in our future and in the future of our children. We need to save. The permanent mineral trust fund is our legacy to future generations. The income from that savings provides a substantial part of the state's budget. In a meeting with State Treasurer Joe Meyer, Tuesday, legislative leadership was informed that income off of the state's investments has become the largest single source of income for the State of Wyoming. While we need to spend for today's needs, saving for the future is a key to continued stability and prosperity for our children, and our children's children.

Publications:

Crew Resource Management for the Fire Service, Penn Well, 2004, co-authored with Randy Okray.

Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I was challenged to run for office by a friend. He thought I could do a good job in the legislature, and that I had something to say. I proposed a public ethics act expansion bill, and it passed. I found I had a talent for working in the legislature, and for getting results. Now, I see a critical time for this state and for the country. Wyoming can be at the center of the economic solutions to the nation's problems. Though education, infrastructure and prudent savings, we can address those issues.
