Priority Issues:

Campaign Finance Reform
I recently did an analysis of many incumbents in our Davis County and Utah state. I found that while they say they will vote for certain things like ?clean air?, ?term limits?, and ?increasing funding of our schools?. I found they don?t work to pass legislation for those things, but instead arrange for the private special interests to fund items like the ?Inland Port? that will add additional pollution and congest our infrastructure! They could be supporting much better paying and clean high tech job solutions instead for our future needs which are just as viable! They are accepting money from horrible companies and organizations that do great harm to us and then they refuse to pass legislation that would protect our citizens from their harmful practices like predatory payday lenders, moving oil refineries out of the much too polluted valley for two examples.

It?s easy to discover this information, but be prepared for a shock! Some of these seemingly nice professional politician candidates are not who you thought they were. You can see this for yourself at https://www.followthemoney.org/ to see if it is citizens or organizations giving money to them for legislative favors. In my House District, it?s about 91% special interest favors to only 9% of our citizens, many relatives and other politicians. To see how this translates into bills written and passed and bills that should be written but are not, or not passed see their votes at https://votesmart.org/

We must become involved now, hold our representatives accountable for wrong actions or actions needed, but not taken while they are in office. We must pay attention to what our representatives are doing, and if we don?t like what we seeing, we must support and elect better candidates.
