Reason for Seeking Public Office:
When I was asked to run, I laughed. I had never considered being a "politician." As I thought about it, though, I realized the people of SD29 deserve a choice. I can offer a commitment to dial down the partisan bickering. Upon election, my first action would be to contact other legislators who have a reputation for common sense, from both sides of the aisle. I would form a group of legislators who are accountable to one another during the legislative session to a standard of behavior that will dial down the partisanship. Between sessions, I would convene nonpartisan working groups on challenges facing our district.
