Reason for Seeking Public Office:
Having been passionately involved as President of the Molokai Chamber of Commerce from 2001 to 2009, as President of the Molokai Island Foundation a 501©3 since 2005 to present, and as a business owner and employer since 1997 to present, I have long worked for positive changes in Molokai. I want to bring this same passion, knowledge and experiences to the Hawaii State Legislature as your Representative for House District 13. Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe and East Maui (Haiku, Hana, Kaupo, Kipahulu, Nahiku).
Too long our rural communities have been underrepresented in the Hawaii State Legislature and I have always been concerned about this lack of commitment. Many times as president of the Chamber, I have had to tackle challenges we face without the support from state leaders. Our state leaders have been out of touch with our communities due to a lack of communications and its time we make that change.
