Priority Issues:

2nd Amendment-
I am a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment. A person's right to defend themselves is absolute.

National Debt-
There is no issue more important than living within our means. We cannot continue to kick the can down the road. By electing the same politicians who vote to increase our budget, we are stealing our children and grandchildren's future. It is way too easy to spend other people's money.

Jobs & Economy-
It is not the responsibility of the government to create jobs. The government's responsibility is to provide a free market economy so private enterprise can thrive. We have far too many regulations which are a burden to the entrepreneurial spirit of Americans.

Veterans-
Alaska has more veterans per capita than any other state in the nation. Are our veterans getting the benefits they've earned? Veterans fulfilled their contract and we must honor that contract as promised. Period.

Fish & Wildlife-
When it comes to fish and game management, the federal government does not share Alaskan's values. Alaska is the only state that is prohibited from managing its own fish and game wildlife. Alaskans are more knowledgeable and better equipped to make the decisions needed to protect this valuable resource.
The Alaska Constitution and Federal law protect a subsistence priority. This is an issue not talked about enough and we must begin having a thoughtful dialog between all personal users of our fish and wildlife as competition increases between users of these diminishing resources creating an unnecessary and destructive competition among Alaskans.

Corporate Subsidies-
For too long we have allowed politicians to select winners and losers based on a "pay to play" political system. Business enterprise in America should flourish based on its own merits, not from government bailouts financed by hard working tax payers.

Arctic Policy-
The arctic region is the most underdeveloped area of the entire nation. This area is rich in resources. The Arctic is vital in regards to geo-politics considering the emerging presence of Asia and Russia. We must be able to develop this area and protect, support and promote the rights of people within this area.

Federal Overreach-
The federal government is over-regulating the people and the economy through Administrative actions to the extent that we must ask if we have representative government anymore. We are, in effect, regulating our liberties away.
Executive overreach is a big problem for millions of Americans. It is unacceptable that we feel powerless in our own homes or that our personal destiny is in the hands of others. Too many in government believe they know what is best for us.
When un-elected bureaucrats prevent "We the People" from honest work, this is a problem. When hairdressers can't open their own business without paying some agency tens of thousands of dollars in fees, this is a problem. When property owners are forbidden from doing something productive with their land, this is a problem, and when children are prevented from an excellent standard of education, this is a problem. It is our responsibility to make decisions about our families, our lives, and our jobs. Not some un-elected official in D.C.

Native Issues-
American Indians and Alaska Natives are recognized along with the States in the US Constitution. If you believe in States sovereignty and basic American government ideals, then you also acknowledge the protected rights of the "Indian Tribes" per Article 1, Section 8. Acknowledgement of these rights guaranteed to Tribes is critical for effective collaboration to address issues and concerns between Alaska, Alaska Native Tribes, and the Federal Government. My Party stands on the principles of self-determination and personal freedom to live our lives without the limiting shackles of government which come in many different forms.
Alaskan Natives share these same values and understand how damaging, controlling and overbearing government can be. Government promotes dependence and mandates itself to take care of "people". We must resist this temptation, because government should be a last resort, not a first resource. Nothing can replace freedom and liberty. We have to work as partners in addressing issues such as economic development, substance abuse, domestic violence, subsistence and education that are so important to Alaska Natives and their communities.
