Reason for Seeking Public Office:
The military brought me to Alaska forty-seven years ago and by the time my tour was up, I had realized what a wonderful place Anchorage and Alaska is. I stayed, got married, and raised a family. I taught high school for twenty-seven years and served in the Alaska Air National Guard for twenty-two years. After finishing high school, my kids went on to graduate from college. Two have Master's degrees.
Over the years I hope I've made Alaska a better place; however, I feel there is still more to be done. That's why I'm running for State House Seat 16 in East Anchorage. I'll need your help. Together, we can make Anchorage an even better place to live and work and raise families.
My experience working with others in various leadership positions has provided me with the ability and knowledge to get things done. I am a good listener, as well as a tireless worker. I am a volunteer and I want to work for you.
I believe in a government that makes it possible for people to achieve their goals -- not a government that provides the jobs but a government that enables the private sector to create jobs. I believe in a government that serves the people.
I also want to see an education system that provides people with the tools they need to be able to fulfill their dreams, whatever they may be.
I want to see an Alaska in which people can expand their horizons -- a world where the only limit is what each individual desires to achieve.
