Priority Issues:

Protect our environment. We can preserve our clean air by transitioning to wind or solar power, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions. We can preserve the quality of our water by protecting watersheds, reducing runoff, controlling commercial exploitation, and controlling salt contamination.

Keep our economic advantages. Our total tax burden is one of the lowest in the country. I am opposed to any new broad-based tax, however we must fund education adequately, protect seniors, and provide for the disabled and the economically disadvantaged. This may be accomplished through targeted consumption taxes.

Promote efficient government. We must empower regulators to ensure compliance and hold them accountable to the public. We should preserve our broad-based democracy. We must fund legitimate State functions and defer our "wants" until the economy improves. We also need to properly fund the court system.
