Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I am running for the state representative office because I feel that I can make a difference. I have some experience in some areas and I felt it to be my obligation to step up and try my best to help fix some our problems, and help prepare for the future for everyone. My main focus will be "PEOPLE, JOBS and the ECONOMY". We must provide good paying jobs to our work force so that we can adequately support the things that effect people in their everyday lives. Doing this will help to move the economy forward and get this great country back on its' feet. We must make this the priority because this is what will provide the money flow that will support and improve things for senior citizens, veterans, our children's education, health care, higher education and much more. We must provide good jobs and education opportunities for our children so that they can have the opportunity to live in their home town, find a good job, and raise their families, while having the opportunity to be with their parents, grandparents and other family members. This is very, very important for the personality of our society. WE MUST WORK ON THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM!!!
I have been a member of my local school board for 11 years. During 5 years of that period, I when to Washington DC to visit with our Senators and Congressman about elementary and secondary education. I represented all of the school districts in the state of Missouri, and directly represented school districts, their students, and the taxpayers located in 7 west central Missouri counties. I advocated for our children's education, adequate funding of education, common sense reform, proper funding for the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) common sense reform for the No Child Left Behind Law, and all of the other areas that are connected to the success of our children's education. I have also represented the school districts, students, and taxpayers of 7 west central Missouri counties by serving 4 years on the Missouri School Board's Association's Legislative Policy Committee on Education, developing education legislation that would be presented to our legislators for consideration. I have served 8 years on the MSBA Regional Leadership Committee, their Training and Development Committee for 3 years, and their committee to select the Outstanding School Board for the state of Missouri for 3 years. I have served 11 years advocating for education in Jefferson City. With this experience, I felt a need and a desire to go to Jefferson City to be directly involved on the decision making. I am also a very strong advocate for our Senior Citizens, our Veterans, (I am a Veteran) , health care, other areas that will help people in a positive way.
I attended State Fair Community College, and have an MSBA Master Certification with 123 credits in law, finance, student achievement, legislative governance, etc. I REPRESENT THE PEOPLE!! I think that it is important to step up and help when you feel that you can make a positive impact on our society.
