Title: Prohibits Restaurants from Using Styrofoam Disposable Food Service Ware
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits restaurants from using polystyrene foam (Styrofoam) disposable food service ware in Alaska.
Prohibits restaurants from using polystyrene foam (Styrofoam) disposable food service ware (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the state from purchasing polystyrene foam disposable food service ware (Sec. 1).
Exempts the restriction of polystyrene foam disposable food service ware for the following (Sec. 1):
Food prepared or packaged outside the state; and
An area affected by an active disaster emergency.
Authorizes restaurants to provide prepared food in polystyrene foam disposable food service ware after the effective date of this act if the restaurant obtained it before the effective date (Sec. 2).
Specifies that this act shall take effect January 1, 2027 (Sec. 2).
