Title: Requires Political Candidacy Groups to Maintain an In-State Address
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that requires groups supporting a political candidate or ballot measure/initiative to maintain an in-state address in Alaska.
Requires an organization to provide their physical address in the state or the physical address of their registered agent prior to making any expenditure in support of or in opposition to a political candidate or ballot proposition (Sec. 2).
Prohibits individuals from contributing more than $2,000 each election cycle ($500 per year) to a nongroup entity for influencing the nomination or election of a candidate, or $4,000 each election cycle ($1,000 per year) to a joint candidacy for governor and lieutenant governor (Sec. 2, 7).
Limits individual contributions to political parties or other groups to $5,000 per year (Sec. 4).
Authorizes a group that is not a political party to contribute up to $4,000 each election cycle ($1,000 per year) to a candidate, and up to $5,000 per year to another group or political party (Sec. 5).
Authorizes an investigation under this act within 90 days after a complaint of a violation (Sec. 10).
