Title: Requires Legislative Approval Before Rescheduling or Removing Marijuana as a Controlled Substance
Vote to pass a bill that requires legislative approval and regulation before rescheduling or removing marijuana as a controlled substance in Tennessee.
Requires the General Assembly to establish a regulatory framework for marijuana before it can be rescheduled under state law in the event it is rescheduled or deleted as a controlled substance under federal law (Sec. 1).
Requires the General Assembly to authorize the commissioner of mental health and substance abuse to reschedule or delete marijuana as a controlled substance in Tennessee in the event of a federal rescheduling or deletion (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this Act takes effect upon becoming law (Sec. 2).
