Highlights:

• Requires courts to advise individuals subject to a protective order that law enforcement may obtain a warrant to search for firearms in their possession (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits individuals subject to a protective order from selling or transferring any firearm to an individual who resides with them, even if they are otherwise not prohibited by law from possessing the firearm (Sec. 1).

• Requires individuals surrendering, selling, or transferring a firearm to provide the name, address, and signature of the individual or entity to whom possession of the firearm is transferred (Sec. 1).

• Requires individuals prohibited from possessing a firearm by court order to relinquish possession of any firearm within 24 hours of a sentencing hearing or release from custody (Sec. 1).
