Title: Requires Individuals to Disclose Any Foreign Donations Before Participating in Election Administration
Vote to pass a bill that requires election administration supporters in Michigan to disclose any foreign funding to the Secretary of State.
Requires individuals to file a certification with the Secretary of State at least 10 days prior to providing any funds, in-kind goods or services, or other services for election administration, stating whether or not they have knowingly received any foreign donations (Sec. 645a).
Requires individuals to update such certification annually and within five days of any circumstances that would change their certification status (Sec. 645a).
Prohibits any governmental entity from enacting or enforcing any law or ordinance that conflicts with this section (Sec. 645a).
Classifies a violation of this section as a misdemeanor, and establishes a fine of up to $1,000 for an individual, and up to $10,000 for non-individual entities (Sec. 645a).
