Title: Requires Public Schools to Incorporate Certain Personal Values into Instruction
Vote to pass a bill in Indiana that requires public schools to incorporate certain values, including waiting until marriage to have children, into instruction.
Requires that the state board of education adopt the following educational standards for schools regarding college and career readiness (Sec. 1):
Meet national and international standards for college and career readiness;
Prepare students for college entrance examinations, such as the ACT, SAT, or Classic Learning Test; and
Protect the confidentiality of student data.
Requires each student to develop a graduation plan that will be part of the student’s permanent school record (Sec. 2).
Amends “good citizenship instruction” to require instruction on the importance of the following (Sec. 3):
Obtaining at least a high school diploma and acquiring additional workforce training;
Securing full-time employment; and
Waiting until marriage to have children.
Requires state institutions of higher education to accept the Classic Learning Test as an option for a nationally recognized college entrance exam (Sec. 5).
Specifies that this Act takes effect July 1, 2026 (Sec. 1).
