Vote to pass a bill in Indiana that requires public schools to incorporate certain values, including waiting until marriage to have children, into instruction.

Highlights:

• Requires that the state board of education adopt the following educational standards for schools regarding college and career readiness (Sec. 1):

• Meet national and international standards for college and career readiness;

• Prepare students for college entrance examinations, such as the ACT, SAT, or Classic Learning Test; and

• Protect the confidentiality of student data.

• Requires each student to develop a graduation plan that will be part of the student’s permanent school record (Sec. 2).

• Amends “good citizenship instruction” to require instruction on the importance of the following (Sec. 3):

• Obtaining at least a high school diploma and acquiring additional workforce training;

• Securing full-time employment; and

• Waiting until marriage to have children.

• Requires state institutions of higher education to accept the Classic Learning Test as an option for a nationally recognized college entrance exam (Sec. 5).

• Specifies that this Act takes effect July 1, 2026 (Sec. 1).
