Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the Indiana national guard to establish a military police force.

Highlights:

• Authorizes members of the military police force of the Indiana National Guard to use the facilities of the law enforcement training academy (Sec. 5).

• Expands the definition of “law enforcement officer” to include a member of the military police force of the Indiana National Guard (Sec. 6-14).

• Authorizes the adjutant general of the Indiana National Guard to establish a military police force of the Indiana National Guard (Sec. 40).

• Authorizes a member of the military police force of the Indiana National Guard to use police powers after both (Sec. 40):

• The member is called to state active duty; and

• The member has successfully completed either army or air military police occupational training and has received qualifying instruction on Indiana law enforcement.

• Amends various provisions regarding the benefits of military families, including grants from the military family relief fund (Sec. 48).

• Amends various regulations for the erection and governance of an armory (Sec. 22-79).

• Establishes the Indiana Civilian Cyber Corps Program as a subdivision of the Indiana guard reserve, which will be made up of civilian volunteers with expertise in addressing cybersecurity incidents (Sec. 15-39).

• Classifies the possession of an imitation firearm on school property or on a school bus as a class B misdemeanor (Sec. 83).
