Title: Authorizes the Indiana National Guard to Establish a Military Police Force
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the Indiana national guard to establish a military police force.
Authorizes members of the military police force of the Indiana National Guard to use the facilities of the law enforcement training academy (Sec. 5).
Expands the definition of “law enforcement officer” to include a member of the military police force of the Indiana National Guard (Sec. 6-14).
Authorizes the adjutant general of the Indiana National Guard to establish a military police force of the Indiana National Guard (Sec. 40).
Authorizes a member of the military police force of the Indiana National Guard to use police powers after both (Sec. 40):
The member is called to state active duty; and
The member has successfully completed either army or air military police occupational training and has received qualifying instruction on Indiana law enforcement.
Amends various provisions regarding the benefits of military families, including grants from the military family relief fund (Sec. 48).
Amends various regulations for the erection and governance of an armory (Sec. 22-79).
Establishes the Indiana Civilian Cyber Corps Program as a subdivision of the Indiana guard reserve, which will be made up of civilian volunteers with expertise in addressing cybersecurity incidents (Sec. 15-39).
Classifies the possession of an imitation firearm on school property or on a school bus as a class B misdemeanor (Sec. 83).
