  • Exempts individuals from such prohibition under the following circumstances (Sec. 6):

    • The multiple occupancy restroom or changing area has been temporarily designated for use by the opposite sex;

    • The individual is less than nine years of age and is accompanied by a parent or caregiver; or

    • The individual enters a multiple occupancy restroom or changing area for one of the following purposes:

      • Custodial, maintenance, or inspection purposes;

      • To render medical or emergency assistance;

      • To accompany a student needing assistance if the individual assisting is the student’s parent or caregiver; or

      • To provide coaching or athletic training during an athletic event, provided no students are in a state of undress.

  • Prohibits schools from requiring a student to share sleeping quarters with a member of the opposite sex, unless the individual is a member of the student’s family (Sec. 6-7).
