Vote to pass a bill that requires schools in Ohio to show students a video depicting fetal development from conception, such as the "meet baby Olivia" video developed by the anti-abortion non-profit, Live Action, each year starting in fifth grade.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the Department of Education and Workforce from adopting a model curriculum for instruction in human growth and development that conflicts with the curriculum established in this section (Sec. 1).

• Requires each public school district and other public school to include instruction in grades five through 12 on human growth and development in its curriculum, including at least both of the following (Sec. 1):

• A high definition ultrasound video, at least three minutes long, showing the development of the brain, heart, sex organs, and other vital organs in early fetal development; and

• The “meet baby Olivia” video developed by the anti-abortion non-profit, Live Action, or a similar video showing the process of fertilization and each stage of human development inside the uterus.

• Requires students to be excused from taking instruction in human growth and development upon written request of their parent or guardian (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Education and Workforce to conduct an audit of each district or school to verify its compliance with this section (Sec. 1).
