Vote to pass a bill that requires the Department of Public Instruction to contract with an entity to conduct a study of Wisconsin's school districts for potential consolidation.

Highlights:

• Requires the Department of Instruction to reward a contract to conduct a study of school district boundaries, demographics spending, facilities, and potential for consolidation by the 1st day of the 4th month after the effective date of this Act (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department to require the entity conducting the survey to submit their report by the first day of the 10th month after the effective date of this Act (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Public Instruction to issue a funding request for the costs of the survey to the joint committee on finance by no later than July 1, 2026 (Sec. 1).
