Vote to pass a bill that establishes legal authorization for and prohibits termination of teachers who take certain actions to maintain order in their classroom in Wisconsin.

Highlights:

• Authorizes teachers to maintain order and discipline in their classrooms, establish and enforce classroom rules, call 911 in emergencies, stop a pupil's disruptive behavior, and request immediate assistance from school administration for disruptive behavior (Sec. 5).

• Authorizes teachers to remove pupils if their behavior is disruptive, they cause a violent incident, or they repeatedly refuse to comply with classroom rules (Sec. 6).

• Prohibits students who are removed from class for disruptive behavior or violent incidents from being returned to class unless a behavior intervention plan is in place (Sec. 10).

• Prohibits termination/retaliation of a teacher for expressing any of the authorities detailed in this Act (Sec. 11).
