Title: Authorizes the State Fire Marshall to Establish and Collect Fees Associated with Fire Training and Education
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the state Fire Marshall to establish and collect admission fees associated with the California Fire Service Training and Education Program, and to establish the fees to implement the California Fire and Arson Training Act.
Establishes the California Fire Service Training and Education Program in the Office of the State Fire Marshal (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the Office of the Fire Marshal to do all of the following through the management of the Fire Service Program (Sec. 1):
Adopt necessary rules and regulations for the program;
Develop the program’s curriculum and prerequisites for the admission of course attendees; and
Collect all necessary fees.
Authorizes the State Fire Marshall to do all of the following (Sec. 2):
Establish a minimum standard for fire protection personnel and instructors;
Develop a relevant course curriculum;
Maintain security over a series of promotional examinations;
Establish any necessary fees pursuant to the bill’s intents; and
Promote the training and education program.
