Title: Establishes the Michigan National Guard Member Benefit Fund
Vote to pass a bill that establishes the Michigan National Guard member benefit fund.
Establishes the Michigan National Guard member benefit fund in the state treasury (Sec. 3).
Specifies that money in the fund at the end of the fiscal year remains in the fund (Sec. 3).
Specifies that the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is the administrator of the fund, and must expend money from the fund on appropriation to support the following acts or programs (Sec. 3):
The Michigan National Guard Tuition Assistance Act;
The Michigan National Guard Child Care Assistance Act; and
A Tricare premium reimbursement program if established under state law.
Specifies that this Act does not take effect unless Senate Bill 540 and Senate Bill 542 are enacted into law (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this Act takes effect immediately upon its passage and passage of necessary companion bills (Sec. 3).
