Vote to amend and pass a bill that allows individuals displaced by disasters to use short-term rentals in California.
Defines disaster as an event or circumstance that results in a federal major disaster declaration approved by the President of the United States or a state of emergency proclaimed by the Governor (Sec. 1).
Defines “lodging” in this bill as a motel or hotel (Sec. 1).
Specifies that state law will not consider one a tenant if they stayed for 270 consecutive days or more if your home is uninhabitable due to a disaster (Sec. 1).
