Title: Prohibits Misleading Practices in the Auto Sale Industry
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that prohibits misleading practices in the auto-sale industry in California.
Prohibits the dealer from misrepresenting information about the costs or payment information of the vehicle and the costs and benefits of add-on services (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the dealer from charging for an add-on product or service if the purchaser would not benefit from the service (Sec. 1).
Requires dealers to provide a 3-day right to cancel the purchase for used vehicles sold for $50,000 or more (Sec. 1).
Requires dealers to provide information regarding the right to obtain a copy of the agreement at any time and under what conditions the vehicle may be repossessed before signing (Sec. 2).
Establishes requirements for how the lease contract must be formatted and what it must contain (Sec. 4).
