Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that expands eligibility for benefits under the California's paid family leave program to include individuals who take time off work to care for seriously ill designated persons.

Defines “designated person” as any care recipient who is related by blood or whose association with the individual is equivalent to a family relationship (Sec. 4).
Requires an individual who is, for the first time, requesting temporary disability insurance benefits to care for a designated person to (Sec. 6):
Identify the designated person; and
How the individual is related by blood to the designated person, or how the individual’s association with the designated person is equivalent to a family relationship.
Specifies that this provision shall remain in effect only until July 1, 2028 (Sec. 6).
