Vote to amend and pass a bill that increases the minimum wage for incarcerated firefighters fighting active wildfires to $7.25 an hour in California.
Increases the minimum wage for incarcerated firefighters to $7.25 (Sec. 1).
Requires an annual review of the minimum wage for incarcerated firefighters (Sec. 1).
Increases the credit from one to 2 days of service for inmates assigned to conservation camps and/or firefighting duties (Sec. 2).
Requires the Department of Corrections or County (depending on the type of prison) to establish processes for overseeing disputes over compensation and to remedy such disputes (Sec. 2).
