  • Requires all new school buses to be equipped with a live video school bus violation monitoring system starting July 1, 2027 (Sec. 1).

    • The traffic tribunal if a summons is issued by a city or town that has not established a municipal court; and

    • The municipal court if a summons is issued by a city or town that has established one.

  • Specifies that the revenue generated from fines imposed by school bus violation monitoring systems will be allocated as follows (Sec. 1):

    • 40% to the state general fund;

    • 30% to the municipality where the violation takes place; and

    • 30% to the vendor who supplies the video monitoring system.

  • Specifies that this Section does not apply to existing contracts at the time of its enactment (Sec. 1).

  • Specifies that this Act takes effect upon passage (Sec. 3).
