Vote to pass a bill that authorizes beer and wine licenses for special independent theaters in New Mexico.

Highlights:

• Authorizes wine and beer dispensing licenses for owners or operators of an independent theater (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that service of beer or wine at an independent theater must be limited to two 12-ounce servings of beer or two six-ounce servings of wine per customer for each event (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that a license under this Section may not be transferred between individuals or locations (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that an “independent theater” is an establishment that exhibits movies or live productions, is owned and operated by a New Mexico-based resident or organization, and which has been in existence for at least one year (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that this Act takes effect July 1, 2025 (Sec. 2).
