Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that amends and renames it the Kansas Public Disclosure Commission.

Highlights:

• Amends references to the Kansas Commission on Governmental Standards and Conduct to instead refer to the Kansas Public Disclosure Commission and amends related provisions (Sec. 2-27).

• Specifies that entities whose political spending exceeds $3,000 annually and meets either of the following criteria shall constitute a political committee (Sec. 8-13):

• The entity’s governing documents reflect an electoral purpose; or

• The entity contributes an amount in excess of 50% of its total program spending over the prior 5 years.

• Defines related terms and amends certain criteria (Sec. 6-13).

• Requires that individuals contributing an amount greater than $1,000 annually file a statement of independent expenditures and specifies the information that the statement is to include (Sec. 9).
