Title: Expands Regulations for Online Gambling Advertisements and Payment Methods
Vote to pass a bill that expands regulations for online gambling advertisements and payment methods in Connecticut.
Requires licensed online gaming operators, online gaming service providers, and sports wagering retailers to do each of the following (Sec. 1):
Prohibit individuals from making more than one account on each electronic wagering platform under their control;
Limit individuals to the use of one debit or one credit card for an account and obtain permission from all account holders before authorizing any charges;
Authorize an individual to limit the amount of money that can be deposited into an account and spent per day;
Establish a voluntary self-exclusion process to allow an individual to prevent themselves from making an account or spending a certain amount; and
Display information on responsible gambling.
Prohibits licensed online gaming entities from advertising directly to individuals who are a part of the self-exclusion list, or who are under 18 or 21 years of age, depending on the type of wagering offered by the gaming operator (Sec. 1).
Prohibits licensed online gaming entities from offering any financial incentive to induce individuals to engage in gambling (Sec. 1).
Prohibits licensed online gaming entities from implying increased winning odds compared to other entities or representing players’ financial success (Sec. 1).
