Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the removal of several criminal justice fees, and courts to waive prosecution costs under certain conditions in Oklahoma.

Highlights:

• Repeals a $500 court ordered fee for individuals who plead or are found guilty of misdemeanor possession of marijuana (Sec. 1).

• Repeals the authorization for courts to order a defendant to reimburse the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for costs incurred by the cleaning up of an illegal drug laboratory site for which the defendant plead or was found guilty (Sec. 2).

• Repeals a monitoring fee of up to $300 per month for electronic monitoring administered by the Department of Corrections (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes courts to waive the costs of prosecution applied to defendants, and requires unpaid costs of prosecution to be waived in certain cases of suspended sentence (Sec. 2-3).

• Repeals a $40 nonrefundable application fee for requests for representation by the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (Sec. 4).

• Repeals a $15 fee for every misdemeanor or felony case of driving under the influence to be credited to the Oklahoma Impaired Driver Database Revolving Fund (Sec. 5).

• Repeals a $100 fee for individuals found guilty of driving under the influence to be deposited in the Drug Abuse Education and Treatment Revolving Fund (Sec. 6).
