Title: Establishes Confidentiality Rules for Accident Reports and Vehicle Records
Vote to pass a bill that establishes privacy protections for accident and vehicle records in Oregon.
Defines “personal information” as data that identifies an individual, including (Sec. 4):
A Social Security number;
A driver license or state identification card number;
A U.S. passport number or other federal ID; or
A financial account number and combined password or any security credentials that allow account access.
Authorizes law enforcement agencies to (Sec 4):
Retain copies of police reports submitted to the Oregon Department of Transportation; and
Release only non-personal information from those reports to contracted service providers that support law enforcement agencies and their operations.
