Vote to pass a bill that establishes privacy protections for accident and vehicle records in Oregon.

Highlights:

• Defines “personal information” as data that identifies an individual, including (Sec. 4):

• A Social Security number;

• A driver license or state identification card number; 

• A U.S. passport number or other federal ID; or

• A financial account number and combined password or any security credentials that allow account access.

• Authorizes law enforcement agencies to (Sec 4):

• Retain copies of police reports submitted to the Oregon Department of Transportation; and

• Release only non-personal information from those reports to contracted service providers that support law enforcement agencies and their operations.
