Vote to pass a bill that establishes new election recount procedures in Iowa.
Establishes new election recount procedures in Iowa (Sec. 1-26).
Amends and makes multiple changes to the state election recount system, including a requirement for results to be within a threshold of 1% or 50 votes, whichever is less, for a candidate to request a recount with a 0.15% difference for recounts in statewide and federal races (Sec. 1-26).
Amends and changes the composition of election recount boards by having county auditors lead the board with their staff and hire election workers with an equal number of workers from each political party (Sec. 1-26).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor (Sec. 27).
