Title: Establishes the Regulation of Mobile Manufactured Home Parks
Vote to pass a bill that establishes fair rent commissions, limit rent increases, regulate short-term rental agreements, allow for license revocation requests for park owners, modify relocation expenses, and cap fees in mobile manufactured home parks in Connecticut.
Specifies that the general statutes be amended to say (Sec 1):
Mobile manufactured home park residents with access to fair rent commissions;
Provide that any increase in the rent charged to occupy a lot in a mobile manufactured home park shall not exceed any increase in the consumer price index plus one per cent ;
Establish additional enforcement measures and penalties concerning mobile manufactured home park owners who enter into rental agreements that are less than one year in duration ;
Allow mobile manufactured homes located in municipalities other than the municipality in which a mobile manufactured home is located to be used for purposes of conducting an appraisal ;
Enable mobile manufactured home park residents to request that a mobile manufactured home park owner's license be revoked in cases of extraordinary malpractice or negligence; and
Modify the amount of relocation expenses paid to mobile manufactured home park residents, and cap various fees imposed by mobile manufactured home park owners, including, but not limited to, pet and washing machine fees.
Specifies the provisions of this bill take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec 1).
