Title: Requires Oklahoma Hospitals to Make Public Standard Treatment Costs
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that requires Oklahoma hospitals to make public a list of standard treatment costs and specifying that such lists must clearly outline a treatment's gross charge, minimum and maximum negotiated charge, and discounted cash price.
Requires hospitals to maintain a list of all standard charges for hospital items or services specific to each location of that hospital (Sec. 3).
Specifies that the required list must include the following (Sec. 3):
A description of each hospital item or service provided;
The gross charge, the discounted cash price, and payor-specific negotiated charges for each individual item or service; and
Any code used by the hospital for purposes of accounting or billing.
Specifies that the list must be available to the public for free and without requiring a user account or personally identifiable information (Sec. 3).
Requires hospitals to update their list of charges for items and services at least once per year (Sec. 3).
Authorizes the State Department of Health to monitor each hospital’s compliance with the requirements of this act by evaluating complaints, reviewing analysis, and auditing hospital websites (Sec. 5).
Authorizes the State Department of Health to provide a written notice, request a corrective action plan, and impose an administrative penalty on hospitals that it finds not in compliance with a provision of this act (Sec. 5).
