Title: Prohibits Geo-Engineering and Weather Modification Activities
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits geo-engineering and weather modification activities (cloud seeding) in Florida.
Prohibits geo-engineering and weather modification activities (cloud seeding) in Florida (Sec. 1-8).
Prohibits the injection, release, or dispersion of substances into the atmosphere to affect temperature, weather, climate, or sunlight intensity, and classifies violations as third-degree felonies, punishable by imprisonment of up to 5 years and fines of up to $100,00,0 with a $5,000 fine cap for aircraft operators and controllers (Sec. 1-8).
Requires the Department of Environmental Protection to create an email address and online form for reporting suspected activities and to investigate credible reports, and that the agency is authorized to refer cases to the Department of Health or the Division of Emergency Management (Sec. 1-8).
Requires operators of publicly owned airports to report monthly to the Department of Transportation on the presence of aircraft equipped for geoengineering or weather modification (Sec. 1-8).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning July 1, 2025 (Sec. 9).
